Wednesday Night Jazz and Blue Grass at the Bowl

Jim and I met at the Bowl and enjoyed an 3 hour concert of Jazz and Blue Grass music.  Madeleine Peyroux started out the evening with her sad harmonious singing with a great group of strings behind her.

The mood was quickly lifted by The Preservation Hall Jazz Band with two Tuba's, sax, trombone, clarinet and trumpet with drums and piano.  The joint was jumpin especially with the enchore of "When the Saints Go Marchin In."

Then Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers came out and gave an hour concert of Blue Grass music with his great banjo playing and funny remarks.  Singer Edie Brickell sang songs that Steve wrote the music and e-mailed to her then she wrote the lyrics.  Twas great fun!
