Fab Friday and Thursday was good too

Lunch with friend Bonnie at Norton Simon Museum on Thursday with the Burghers of Calais, and with friend Nancy on Friday in the Huntington gardens. Wow, I am blessed! Ernie Watts Quartet Jazz at LACMA in eve with Pablo Picasso and friends. Life is a Beach - sometimes.

At LACMA, Pablo's portrait of his wife Jacqueline Rogue in 1953...his ideal Mediterranean woman with multiple aspects of her personality.

Ernie Watts Quartet at LACMA...Ernie the great sax player.

Then, I met a colleague, Alan and his friend Sherwood, and we talked and they invited me to a gallery show opening at "gallery eight two five" at 825 N. La Cienega Blvd.  There we met some of the 60 artists and partook in their works.

"Best Friends" by Helane Freeman.  Reminds me of 1953 and the cub scout pack in Des Moines, Iowa.
"War in the Heavens" by J.T. Burke made with archival pigment on cellulose fiber.
Burke quotes from Revelations 12 with Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon.  Michael won and the dragon, the Devil, was cast out into the earth along with his angels.  Cheer for the good guys!
"Bathing Beauties" by Sharron Shayne, acrylic, pen and charcoal.  I talked with Sharon who has had a career as an actress and entered into art school, Otis, and is creating interesting work.
