Roaming in San Francisco on Friday and Saturday

Colleen and I adeptly used the Oakland/San Francisco public transportation system...including the ferry, Bart and MUNI buses to negotiate our way to favorite places in the Bay area.  First it was off to Golden Gate Park and to the California Academy of Science where we enjoyed lunch in the Moss Room.  The Moss Room is another creation of Charles Phan, Executive Chef.  He is also the creator and Executive Chef of the Slanted Door in the Ferry Bldg. in the City.  We enjoy his Vietnamese styled food so much that we ate there the next day.
The Moss Room is in the basement of the Science Center and features a living wall and a pond which is home to Asian River Fish.
I then strolled over to the De Young Art Museum across the beautiful park.  Here are pictures of some of the things I enjoyed.

A view of the De Young from the Science Center...yes that tower is part of it.

Scenes from the park which is 20% larger than Central Park in New York City.  It was the scene of the 1894 Midwinter International Exposition

Later we found our way back to the Embarcadaro for a sip and snack before we took the later ferry back to Oakland.

Is that Artistic or just a shaky photographer?

On Saturday morning it was back to the Ferry Building for the farmers' market and tastes of many goodies and a sip of wine before lunch at The Slanted Door, for more delicious Vietnamese food, sitting outside on the pier watching the world go by.

Looks just like this but with lots of people on a beautiful Saturday morning.

I strolled toward the Yerba Buena Center and on my way enjoyed this man with his home made drums...drumming for Peace outside the Ferry Building.  There's Hope!

The Yerba Buena Center for the Arts features contemporary arts representing the diverse cultures of San Francisco.  It is adjacent to a park and the convention center on Mission.  I viewed an exhibit on the works of Bill T. Jones who is an American artistic director, choreographer and dancer born in 1952 in Florida.  He formed the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company with his late partner in 1982.
"Table, Masks and 13 chairs from Last Supper at Uncle Tom's Cabin/The Promised Land," 1990 by Huck Snuder, used in a three act production by Bill T. Jones.
